WHO THE LAW PROTECTS
Discrimination can take many forms.
Depending on the employer, applicable law, and circumstances, employment discrimination protections may involve characteristics such as:
- Race
- Color
- National origin
- Religion
- Sex
- Pregnancy and related conditions
- Age, generally beginning at age 40
- Disability
- Genetic information under federal law
- Other statuses or circumstances protected by applicable law
Idaho’s Human Rights Act prohibits employment discrimination based on race, sex, color, national origin, religion, age 40 and older, and mental or physical disability. Federal law may provide additional protections depending on the circumstances and employer coverage.
